The ART of Business Planning:
Strategic and Creative Solutions
for Career Success
  Thursday, March 15th

About This Event

Depending on who you ask, between 50 and 90% of new businesses fail within five years.  Another statistic is that fewer than one third of projects are completed on time, within budget. Those aren’t good odds! What if there was a way you could improve your chances of succeeding? What if there was one thing you could do that could significantly improve your chances of achieving success? Would you be willing to try it?

Well, it turns out there is one thing you can do that could significantly increase your chances. A recent study has shown that businesses with a written business plan had a 16% greater chance of achieving viability. Other studies have shown higher growth rates for business with versus those without a plan, and greater chances of obtaining funding with a written plan. And success in business planning isn’t just for business owners.  If you have career goals like promotion, changing jobs or careers, or even retiring on time (or early), a written plan will improve your chances of success.

While a basic business plan can help you set and achieve your goals, a masterpiece business plan will help your business not just survive, but thrive. In The ART of Business Planning, we'll show you how adding a few key components to a basic plan will turn it into a masterpiece, a business plan not just to succeed, but to surpass all expectations.

If you're ready not just to survive, but to thrive in your career or business, attend The ART of Business Planning, and take the first step toward an exceptional 2018!

About Our Presenter

Tim Tyler pursued and achieved the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation after ten years in the field because he came to see learning as more than just a corporate function. He believes learning is a profession, even a calling. Since then he has relentlessly developed his own skills and applied them to provide engaging and effective training for technicians, sales professionals, managers and entrepreneurs in manufacturing and real estate.

I delight in learning challenges that involve organizational and transformational market changes, engaging a learner network that is either directly employed or independent and entrepreneurial.     ---Tim

Tim has extensive experience in the challenges of training an independent contractor work force, including legal requirements for terminology and the need to pull learners in rather than push training down. He always keeps in mind the importance of inclusion and diversity in the design and development of training, including not just readily visible diversity, but of invisible minorities as well. In 2017 he founded Strategic Learning Partners, LLC to work with real estate companies to build persistent learning environments that on-board sales associates quickly and enhance agent retention to help sales managers and brokers focus on running their business, instead of constantly recruiting new sales associates.

As a corporate learning professional and leader in the local Association for Talent Development (ATD) chapter, Tim engages in conversations to both learn and share with like-minded learning professionals, sales and marketing professionals. As a mentor, he has assisted colleagues in clarifying their career goals and taking concrete steps to pursue them. As a local learning leader, he has guided the local ATD chapter to identify learning audiences and develop programming to attract a wide variety of learning professionals to the chapter, maintaining a focus on member value.
