    About this event:

    Bill Blknap will present over 40 ideas for doing great interview research and show you how to deconstruct those job descriptions in order to answer anything they throw at you…..well not anything, really, since interviewers can ask really dumb questions  …..but anything related to the job description.

     About the Presenter:

     

     

    Bill has thirty years of senior management and human resources experience as manager, Vice President and Senior Vice President in a variety of industries including office products, consumer products and medical cost containment.

    He specializes in coaching senior managers and executives helping them find jobs at the right level, with the right company and at the right compensation.  Last year 17 of Bill’s landed great jobs and over the last five years over 175 of his clients have landed great jobs.  

    He is a certified GetFive Master Career Coach and the co-author of For Executives Only.  Applying Business Techniques to Your Job Search and regularly speaks to networking groups about the “ins and outs” of conducting an effective job search. 

    Bill is considered an expert on networking and has taught networking to over a thousand executives.

    On the personal side Bill is an amateur magician and fitness enthusiast; he has completed over 30 Triathlons.

    Our interactive and engaging event brings together thought leaders with different areas of leadership development expertise to highlight key aspects, best practices, trends and challenges for Talent professionals across the spectrum of our profession. Our conversations will particularly connect the areas of Talent Development and HR/Talent Management toward preparing leaders to navigate the complexity and challenges of a leadership role in organizations today and into the future.

    About Our Panelists

     

    Robin Moriates, MBA, MA, CPC, SHRM-SCP

    Head of Learning & Development for Dassault Aviation  

    Robin is an experienced leader with extensive background in Leadership and Professional Development programs, Corporate Coaching, Talent Management, Human Resources and Sales Communications.  Robin’s current role is the Head of Learning and Development for Dassault Aviation.  Dassault is an international French aircraft manufacturer of military, regional, and business jets.

    Robin is a deeply experienced Learning & Development leader and offers a breadth of expertise across the Talent Development, Talent Management and Organizational Development functions.  She has held global leadership positions across various industries including: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Packaged Goods and Food/Beverage for companies such as Unilever, Pfizer and Novartis.

    In addition, Robin is a professional corporate coach who is certified through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).  She also holds a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources certificate through the Society of Human Resources.

    Ken Starr, North America Training Manager

    Atlas Copco North America LLC

    Ken has thirty years Training and Development experience with Continental Insurance, American International Group (AIG), and Atlas Copco. 

    Since April 2014, he has been the North America Training Manager for Atlas Copco, a 145-year-old industrial group based in Stockholm with world-leading positions in compressors, vacuum solutions, air treatment systems, construction equipment, power tools, and assembly systems.

    In this role, Ken has leadership responsibility for all training activities for North American Operations (5,000+ employees) including a New Manager Training Program.  He oversees targeted and structured competence development activities including: design and delivery of training programs with a strong correlation to Atlas Copco's nine core competencies, vendor relations, competency modeling and learning management system. 

    He has a strategic role to address learning trends in his organization. 

    Ken engages with all organization levels and can speak to middle management and senior leader development strategies and initiatives.

    Ken is a graduate of Boston University and has an MBA from Temple University.

    Mary Anne Kochut, MSOD, Managing Director

    Champions for Success

    Mary Anne is an author, motivational speaker, coach, trainer and organization/management development professional who is skilled in group dynamics, consultation and facilitation.

    Her first book, Power vs. Perception: Ten Characteristics of Self-Empowerment for Women was released in August 2013. She is an engaging and energetic speaker who inspires her audiences through her own personal experiences combined with her commitment to excellence and professional expertise.

    Mary Anne’s expertise in women in leadership, career development and mentoring programs, leadership, management development and skill development courses to employees at all levels of the organization.

    Mary Anne has spoken at numerous Women’s Empowerment Conferences.   She holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Organization Development from the American University/National Training Laboratories program in Washington, DC. Additionally, she holds the National Training Laboratories Certificate for Organization Development and is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  Mary Anne is a professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and a variety of NJ colleges.

    It's that time of year again! The Northern New Jersey ATD invites you to join us for a joint chapter networking event, in collaboration with Mid New Jersey ATD Chapter at the beautiful Red Oak Grille overlooking the scenic golf course where we will enjoy the outdoor covered patio, rain or shine.

    Don’t miss this opportunity to spend time socializing with colleagues and friends while networking with other professionals in our industry.

    This year we have expanded the menu to include a dinner buffet, non-alcoholic beverages, and a cash bar. Happy hour prices are in effect from 5-7 PM so come on over any time, introduce yourself to others and make new connections and friends!

    About this Summit

    The Northern New Jersey Chapter is partnering with the New Jersey Institute of Technology Enterprise Development Center to bring you an exciting half-day professional development learning event. 

    Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics. Breakout session topics include:

    • Augmented Reality
      Learning and Training is changing.  New tools are available that makes training more immersive and instructive.  This breakout session explores what opportunities lie in front of the next generation of training.  How can trainers and organizations get involved, avoid costly dead ends and what are the hurdles to overcome. In this workshop, you will:     
      • Explore the opportunities to use augmented reality in training
      • Learn whether and how to get involved in augmented reality
      • Become aware of hurdles to overcome in order to get involved
    • The Importance and Perils of Social Capital in Innovation Ecosystems
      Innovation ecosystems, such as incubators and accelerators, offer their members a “critical mass” of social capital including potential collaborators, vendors, and customers.  Social capital is crucial to startup’s survival, but startups that do not engage an ecosystem’s social capital would be better off not being in the ecosystem at all.  Once the startup realizes revenue, achieving profit will require converting the tacit knowledge of social capital into explicit knowledge, such as standard operating procedures.  We illustrate these dynamics, and how the entrepreneur can navigate from startup inception to growth. 
      In this workshop, you will learn about: 

      • How to maximize the benefits to your venture of being in an incubator or regional cluster.
      • Behaviors that lead to successful entrepreneurship, and their sequencing.
      • Strategies with long-term positive impact on your venture.
    • Micro-learning
      Micro-learning: Training today’s employee- “teach them the way you reach them”-Using a “TV-commercial” communication model to accelerate learning.

      As a result of attending this workshop, you will 
      • Learn what is micro-learning and how and where to use it
      • Learn how micro-learning accelerates knowledge transfer
      • Learn how to maximize the benefits of micro-learning
      • Learn the best practices for design and development
